The coverage is good and it feels really hydrating. The two shades tend to run light so I bought the medium for my skin. Total Soy Complex to brighten and even skin tone while providing SPF 30 sun protection. Natural, light-reflecting minerals and lightweight coverage blend away skin imperfections and immediately bring out skin's natural radiance. Choose from two luminous shades to blend seamlessly with your skin: Fair to Light and Medium. This moisturizer is also oil-free, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic.

Perk up the girls in time for summer!

The beauty of the bust depends on the beauty of the décolleté. Its delicate skin, which acts like a natural bra, is exposed to harsh external factors that accelerate the appearance of visible signs of aging: loss of firmness with direct consequences on breast support, a creased appearance, dark spots, etc.
A forerunner in dermo-cosmetics, LIERAC has formulated BUST LIFT, a complementary skincare duo with proven effectiveness on the firmness and beauty of the bust and décolleté.
The Bust Lift spray is a great pick-me-up for the girls and adds a little shimmer to highlight your assets!

Don't neglect your neck & décolleté! Pillow creases, dehydration and pigmentation.

This product is amazing! It feels like silk and doesn't feel greasy. If you find yourself waking up with pillow creases that just don't seem to fade as fast as they used to this is the product to try! And it smells absolutely yummy you won't forget to put this one on in the morning.

How To Shape Your Brows Like A Pro!

Brow Mapping Step 1Step 1: First we take a pencil and line it up with the inner corner of your nose and the inner corner of your eye. Then, we make a mark there using any brow pencil. This tells you where your eyebrow should start.

Brow Mapping Step 2 Step 2: Next, we hold the pencil horizontally from the outside corner of your nose through the outer corner of your pupil and make another mark—as this is where your arch should be.

Brow Mapping Step 3Step 3: Finally, we line up the outer corner of your nose with the outer corner of your eye to make the final mark—this is where your eyebrow should end. Now, we can carefully fill in from mark to mark to create your new and improved brow.

Eye Color May Indicate Risk for Serious Skin Conditions

Eye color may be an indicator of whether a person is high-risk for certain serious skin conditions. A study, led by the University of Colorado School of Medicine, shows people with blue eyes are less likely to have vitiligo. It then follows, according to scientists, that people with brown eyes may be less likely to have melanoma. Vitiligo is an autoimmune skin disease in which pigment loss results in irregular white patches of skin and hair. Melanoma is the most dangerous kind of skin cancer.

HEALTHY TAN - Tanning Beds Vs Spray Tanning

My favorite airbrush tanning place! Natalie is amazing! Her formula is great for all skin types & tones! If you have considered getting a tan at a salon using their tanning beds or tanning booths, have you considered the negative effects? When tanning beds first arrived on the scene, people rushed to use them extolling their healthful benefits and convenience as revolutionary. Soon afterwards, tanning beds were popping up everywhere until there was a complete saturation of tanning salons all across the USA. Then the reports on unhealthy effects of ultraviolet radiation, potential skin cancers and dangers of sun  poisoning from the bulbs spread like wildfire. People in a relentless search to acquire the perfect bronze skin, and the zealous efforts of manufacturers to meet those needs have developed through science a safe, effective and realistic looking way to get a beautiful tan without the dangers of the sun or tanning bed bulbs. A perfect option to the traditional dangerous ways of getting a gorgeous tan is to consider an alternative method such as a spray tanning system. Unlike the tanning beds tanning booths or conventional sunbathing, spray tanning uses an FDA approved safe formula to give you a beautiful bronze body. All sunless tanning products use a natural process derived from sugar cane or sugar beets called DHA. DHA (Di-Hydroxy-Acetone) is the active ingredient in sunless tanning products and is a safe FDA approved chemical for tanning. Manufacturers will mix the DHA with various other compounds to produce various finished effects and make their spray tanning solution unique. When selecting a DHA solution, personal preference and finished effect will be a matter of personal choice. If you have medium skin tone, you may want to select a heavier concentration of DHA, and if you have very dry skin, you may want to select one with natural moisturizers to help the DHA adhere to your skin. Since prolonged exposure to the sun and using a tanning bed can result in painful sunburn, blistering or even skin cancers like melanoma, a wise choice to obtaining a beautiful tan will be to explore more deeply the benefits of spray tanning. This effective method is easy to apply and easy to maintain. Everyone wants a nice tan-- However, not everyone is naturally blessed with beautiful glowing skin. There are several differences in tanning beds vs spray tanning -- spray tanning is the best option because it is an affordable and safe way to get tan without damaging your skin.

Know your ABCDE's! Identify your mole!

 IS MY MOLE AT RISK?

This is a great guideline for how to check yourself for any abnormal growth! Just remember that your not a professional so always consult your physician if you have any doubt about how something looks.

A- Asymmetry:

Normal moles or freckles are completely symmetrical. If you were to draw a line through a normal spot, you would have two symmetrical halves. In cases of skin cancer, spots will not look the same on both sides.

B- Border:

A mole or spot with blurry and/or jagged edges.

C- Color:

A mole that is more than one hue is suspicious and needs to be evaluated by a doctor. Normal spots are usually one color. This can include lightening or darkening of the mole.

D- Diameter:

If it is larger than a pencil eraser (about 1/4 inch or 6mm), it needs to be examined by a doctor. This is includes areas that do not have any other abnormalities (color, border, asymmetry).

E- Elevation:

Elevation means the mole is raised above the surface and has an uneven surface.

May is skin cancer awareness month!

May is skin cancer awareness month!
There has been a lot press lately about the new law just passed in California prohibiting underage tanning in beds. I thinks its long overdue given the risks involded! Besides the immediate risk of burning you can get heat stroke and sun poisoning. Sun poisoning doesn't really mean you've been poisoned. It is often the term used for a severe case of sunburn. This is a burn from ultraviolet (UV) radiation that inflames your skin. Sun poisoning can also refer to other reactions. Two examples are polymorphous light eruption and solar urticaria.

Signs and Symptoms of Sun Poisoning

Within just 15 minutes of being in the sun, you can become sunburned, but you might not know it right away. The redness and discomfort might show up a few hours later. You can become severely sunburned if you stay in the sun a long time and don't wear protection. You are at greater risk if you have light skin and fair hair.
Severe sunburn or sun poisoning can cause symptoms such as:
  • Skin redness and blistering
  • Pain and tingling
  • Swelling
  • Headache
  • Fever and chills
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
Inadequate UV protection heads the list of concerns against chemical sunscreens. The sun emits three bands of ultraviolet light, UVA, UVB and the largely ozone-blocked UVC. Most active chemical ingredients only shield against surface burning UVB rays (the kind responsible for sunburns). Studies of sun-related health problems show that the deeper-penetrating UVA rays are far more dangerous to the skin. Suspected UVA overexposure contributes to the increased melanoma rate worldwide. This fact that has not escaped consumer advocates who want broad-band, physical sun protection like titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.Collagen and elastin are connective proteins that help support the skin and keep up its form. They can degrade more rapidly with regular UV exposure. When these fibers weaken and unravel, the skin starts to lose form, causing more clear lines and wrinkles. To help prevent premature aging, it is important to protect your skin from sun exposure every day with a good physical sunscreen. There is definitely confusion on which products are the best on the market. It depends on your skintype and what kind of protection you need. This is the scale that the skin experts use to determine your tollerance to sun and at what point you'll burn. The lighter skintone, sensitive, and babies should use a physical blocker like titanium or zinc. You want to make sure that your product has good photo-stabability. Don't be fooled by all the 80+ SPF out there you have to see if it breaks down in the UV rays or holds up well. If you have any doubts about a specific mole, make an appointment with a dermatologist. They may perform a biopsy where they remove a portion of it and check for cancer. Since skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S., it's better to be safe, so if they do find cancer cells or are unsure, they'll remove the entire mole. To protect yourself from future sun damage.

La Roche Posay Anthelios Sunscreen

La Roche Posay Anthelios sunscreens offer broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection against the full range of UVA and UVB rays. Manufactured in France to exacting standards, this line of sunscreens is widely recommended by dermatologists and used by individuals who seek the best protection from skin damage associated with sun exposure.
La Roche Posay Anthelios contains a patented sun filtering system that incorporates two novel UVA/UVB blocking ingredients – Mexoryl SX and Mexoryl XL. While Mexoryl SX is a water soluble molecule that protects against mid to longer range UVA rays, Mexoryl XL is lipid soluble and protects against both UVB and UVA rays. The combination of the two Mexoryl molecules in La Roche Posay Anthelios sunscreens has been found to offer far greater protection than any one molecule alone. These sunscreens also contain titanium dioxide and avobenzone (Parsol 1789) stabilized with Octocrylene.
Photostability, or the ability for the formulation to maintain its efficacy when exposed to sunlight is another important feature of sunscreens. Unlike many sunscreens that degrade as soon as they are exposed to light, studies have shown that La Roche Posay Anthelios sunscreens maintain their efficacy for as long as 4 to 5 hours after application. Even though it’s recommended that you reapply after 2 hours, you can feel confident that you and your family are protected for hours after application.
Choose from a range of formulations including easy to apply sprays, light fluids and creams for normal and dry skin types. There is even a highly resistant formulation – Anthelios W Gel SPF 40 for outdoor sports use. Anthelios AC SPF 30 has been specially designed for the special concerns of oily and acneic skin. Lastly, the Dermo-Pediatrics range includes an SPF 50+ spray and lotion designed for children’s especially sensitive skin.
Protect you and your family from the short and long term damage associated with exposure to UV rays. Choose La Roche Posay Anthelios sunscreens to fight against sunburn, long term skin damage that leads to wrinkles, age spots, sagging skin as well as some types of skin cancers.

*NEW* at the DeYoung Museum: The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier:

*NEW* at the DeYoung Museum: The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier:
March 24, 2012 - August 19, 2012 Herbst Special Exhibition Galleries. Dubbed fashion’s enfant terrible, Jean Paul Gaultier launched his first prêt-à-porter collection in 1976 and founded his own couture house in 1997. Emerging as a designer in the 1970s, he developed his own dress codes that reflected the changing world around him. The openly gay Gaultier uses his designs to tackle gender and transgender issues through androgynous, gender-bending styles, meanwhile delving even further into some of the darker areas of the sexual revolution. Always provocative, he addresses issues of multiculturalism by bringing ethnic diversity to the Paris runway. Despite the gritty and sometimes controversial context of his collections, the clothes remain beautiful, superbly crafted with the finest dressmaking and detailing skills. This dynamic, multimedia exhibition will include 140 haute couture and prêt-à-porter designs created between the mid-1970s and 2010, along with numerous sketches, archival documents, fashion photographs, and video clips that spotlight Gaultier’s collaborations with filmmakers, choreographers, and musicians, most notably Madonna. For this presentation, Gaultier partnered with the Montreal-based theater company Ubu Compagnie de Création in the design of 30 animated mannequins who talk and sing in playful and poetic vignettes.
