INSIDE TIPS FOR WAXING YOUR KITTY!

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT  WAXING "DOWN UNDER"!

These days we are all doing our best to keep all the trimmings trimmed! If you are brave and already get a bikini or brazilian waxing or your toying with the idea to try it. Here are some great tips for minimizing the pain as well as keeping the zone clean and looking great! If your a waxing virgin the best way to ease into it is to start with a basic bikini and go in from there. See how you do. If you are confused on what is the difference......

Bikini Basic                 Brazilian- bare or a shape left in front
 Bikini Narrow
Five easy tips to a worry free waxing!

1. Don't forget to take a pain reliever 1 hour before your appointment. This really helps dull the pain. Also ladies if it's close to that time of your period, it will definitly be more painful.

2.There are also great products out on the market. Topical numbing agents that take the edge off. BareEase makes a great kit, you just apply the cream, put the panties on and go!

3. Exfoliation is the most important part of the waxing process. Make sure you are exfoliation the area(s) every day and especially after a waxing. This prevents those nasty ingrown hairs that can be really painful. It may be a little tender after waxing, you can apply hydrocortizone to help the healing.

 4. One thing I know that no one warned me about was the breakouts "down under"!! It is totally normal to breakout in your bikini area it has sweat glands, hair follicles and oil glands that all contribute. Hormonal fluctuations can create more breakouts. Ingrown hairs are the worst when the happen in the V-zone. Exfoliation helps but sometimes we have to pull out the big guns and use a salicylic acid cleanser or even spot treatment.

5. Trim before your come in for your appointment.Especially right in between, front and center! The hair grows every direction so it's easier for the technician to wax (less painful for you). The hair should be 1/4 inch long. (The longer hair hurts more) Also if it's too short it will just hurt and not pull much hair out.

*BONUS TIP* You can stretch out the time between waxing with a growth inhibitor product. There are many brands out there to choose from.

*ALSO HELP OUT, HOLD YOUR SKIN TAUGHT!
There are only so may hands and the more taught the skin the less painful, so make sure to be proactive and ask.

 DON'T FORGET SUNSCREEN!!
Your skin is exposed after waxing protect it!

*NEW* at the DeYoung Museum: The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier:
March 24, 2012 - August 19, 2012 Herbst Special Exhibition Galleries. Dubbed fashion’s enfant terrible, Jean Paul Gaultier launched his first prêt-à-porter collection in 1976 and founded his own couture house in 1997. Emerging as a designer in the 1970s, he developed his own dress codes that reflected the changing world around him. The openly gay Gaultier uses his designs to tackle gender and transgender issues through androgynous, gender-bending styles, meanwhile delving even further into some of the darker areas of the sexual revolution. Always provocative, he addresses issues of multiculturalism by bringing ethnic diversity to the Paris runway. Despite the gritty and sometimes controversial context of his collections, the clothes remain beautiful, superbly crafted with the finest dressmaking and detailing skills. This dynamic, multimedia exhibition will include 140 haute couture and prêt-à-porter designs created between the mid-1970s and 2010, along with numerous sketches, archival documents, fashion photographs, and video clips that spotlight Gaultier’s collaborations with filmmakers, choreographers, and musicians, most notably Madonna. For this presentation, Gaultier partnered with the Montreal-based theater company Ubu Compagnie de Création in the design of 30 animated mannequins who talk and sing in playful and poetic vignettes.
